Position: Refrigeration Technician - CA

Exemption: Full Time
Job Location: California Service Center
Close Date: Open Until Filled

Description

DLR has an immediate opening for a field service refrigeration technician for our northern California Service Center. Hands on knowledge of refrigeration and electronics required.

Responsibilities:

Performing service, installation, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on all types of laboratory equipment.

• Diagnose root cause failures
• Test components
• Check for leaks, operate and read gauges
• Read wiring diagrams, diagnose electrical and mechanical defects
• Perform mechanical repairs
• Reclaim refrigerant
• Types of equipment serviced: Ultra cold freezers, laboratory refrigerators and freezers, walk-in boxes, ice machines, etc.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Formal refrigeration training + 1 year of experience or 3 years of experience
• Valid driver's license
• Universal EPA certification
• Strong analytic ability
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
• Must have demonstrated electrical and control troubleshooting experience
• Willingness to participate in the emergency on-call rotation
• Must undergo a government background check
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interface professionally with customers
• Ultra low refrigeration experience preferred
